ILOILO City – The City Health Office (CHO) has successfully inoculated 63,672 individuals in the city with the flu vaccine as of Thursday, December 26.

The CHO began administering the shots for free on November 21, targeting everyone aged 10 years old and above.

The vaccination campaign is ongoing, with a goal to reach 150,000 individuals.

“I extend my gratitude to President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and the Department of Health for their support and for allocating the vaccines that made this achievement possible. Without their assistance, our flu vaccination program would not have reached this level of success,” Mayor Jerry P. Treñas said.

The city mayor, along with CHO head Dr. Anabelle Tang, is encouraging those who have yet to receive their flu vaccine to visit the nearest health center in every district or the flu vaccination site at the City Health Office on the 2nd floor of Iloilo City Hall.

Moreover, companies, schools, and government offices are also strongly encouraged to continue collaborating with CHO for mass vaccination drives.

“Let us all work together for safer workplaces, learning environments, and public spaces for everyone. Prevention is our most powerful tool in ensuring a healthy and resilient city,” Mayor Treñas added./PN
