BACOLOD City — More than 800 individuals and associations from the Panay and Negros Island regions, beneficiaries of the “Mag Negosyo Ta ‘Day” (MTD) program under the Office of the Vice President (OVP), received cash aid grants during the OVP Pop-Up Exhibit launched in Bacolod City.
Of the 848 beneficiaries, 20 received their checks in an initial distribution during the exhibit at Robinsons Place on November 24. Individual beneficiaries will receive P15,000 each, while associations will receive P150,000 each, totaling P14.2 million.
The MTD program aims to support individuals, groups, and sectors affected by poverty, unemployment, injustice, and calamities, helping them integrate into the mainstream economy and become self-reliant. OVP spokesperson Atty. Ruth B. Castelo led the check distribution together with Norman Baloro, Officer-in-Charge of the OVP Operations Office.
The pop-up exhibit, titled “Extra + Ordinary: Vice Presidents of the Philippines,” runs until December 5 in celebration of the OVP founding anniversary. Designed to showcase the legacies, stories, and public service of the 14 vice presidents in the Philippines’ 90-year history, the exhibit highlights Vice President Sara Duterte as the 15th.
After Bacolod, the exhibit will travel to other regions, making the history of the vice presidency more accessible outside Metro Manila./PN
