ANTIQUE — More than 9,500 families in the municipality of San Remigio, Antique are set to receive Noche Buena packs from the local government unit (LGU) as part of its Christmas celebration.

Mayor Mar Mission Jr. said a total of 9,521 families will benefit from the distribution, a program that the LGU has been implementing since 2020 to assist families who may not have the means to prepare a traditional Christmas meal.

The mayor said the initiative aims to ensure that every household in San Remigio can experience the spirit of Christmas, regardless of their circumstances.

“Our goal is for every family to feel the joy of the season. No one should be left without something to prepare for Noche Buena,” Mission said.

The distribution will be carried out directly by the LGU in coordination with barangay officials to ensure an orderly and efficient process. Barangay-prepared beneficiary lists will be used to facilitate the swift delivery of the Noche Buena packs.

Mayor Mission also expressed hope that the program will continue annually, even beyond his term, so future administrations can sustain the tradition of sharing and community support in San Remigio./PN
