BACOLOD City – Police seized an estimated P761,600 worth of suspected shabu and arrested four drug suspects in separate anti-illegal drug operations conducted by the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) on Tuesday night, August 4.
Police Col. Eugene Rebadomia, BCPO director, said the first operation was carried out at about 8:04 p.m. by operatives of the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU), led by Lt. Col. Roberto Indiape Jr., in Purok Chrysanthemum, Barangay 33.
The buy-bust operation resulted in the arrest of a 20-year-old high-value individual and a 20-year-old street-level individual, both residents of Progreso Village 1, Bacolod City.
Recovered from the suspects were several sachets containing about 100 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of P680,000, along with the marked money used in the operation.
Later, at about 11:31 p.m., operatives of Police Station 9 led by Capt. Greeky Cayao conducted another buy-bust operation in Purok San Jose 1, Barangay Sum-ag.
The operation led to the arrest of two more suspects, aged 21 and 30, both residents of Barangay Sum-ag.
Authorities recovered about 12 grams of suspected shabu valued at P81,600, as well as the marked money.
The four suspects are now under police custody and will face charges for violating Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Rebadomia commended the operating units for their sustained anti-drug campaign and reaffirmed the BCPO’s commitment to intensifying intelligence-driven operations against illegal drugs.
“These successful operations demonstrate our unwavering commitment to protecting our communities from the harmful effects of illegal drugs. We will continue to strengthen our anti-drug campaign and work closely with the community to ensure that those engaged in illegal drug activities are held accountable under the law,” Rebadomia said.
He also urged the public to continue supporting law enforcement authorities by promptly reporting illegal drug activities in their communities.(WDJ)/PN
