KALIBO, Aklan — Supt. Aden Lagradante, police municipal chief here, had been promoted.

He was relieved from his post only to be assigned as deputy director for administration of Aklan Police Provincial Office in Camp Pastor Martelino in Brgy. New Buswang here.

Senior Supt. Samuel Nacion, police provincial director, early this week confirmed Lagradante’s reassignment.

Nacion said no less than the Police Regional Office 6 ordered Lagradante’s relief upon review of the police station’s organizational structure.

Based on his rank, Lagradante was overqualified for a police municipal chief.

“The head of a municipal or capital town police station has the rank of Chief Inspector,” said Nacion.

Insp. Benny Jones Mendoza will lead the Kalibo police station as officer-in-charge until Mayor William Lachica selects an official police municipal chief.

Nacion said the Philippine National Police had recommended five nominees for the position.

The list had already been submitted to Lachica, who will then choose and appoint, he said.

Lagradante said he “will follow the relief order from the Police Regional Office 6.”

“Chief Inspector lang dapat ang hepe (A municipal police station should be led by only a Chief Inspector),” he said.

Prior to his assignment as Kalibo police chief in December last year, Lagradante was director of the Aklan Provincial Mobile Group and a member of the United Nations peacekeeping force. (Aklan Forum Journal/PN)
