P1.02-M ‘shabu’ seized in Granada drug bust

BACOLOD City – Suspected shabu estimated to be worth some P1,020,000 was recovered in a sting operation at Charito Heights Subdivision in Barangay Granada, a police report showed.

The suspected illegal drugs were confiscated from the 31-year-old resident Myla Velano, the report stated.

Velano was caught after she sold suspected shabu to an undercover officer for P2,000 around 8:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Recovered from Velano’s possession were 17 more sachets of suspected shabu weighing 85 grams, police said.

Her cellphone, a weighing scale and cash believed to be proceeds from Velano’s alleged illegal drug transactions were also confiscated.

Elements of the Bacolod City Police Office’s Drug Enforcement Unit staged the buy-bust operation.

According to the police, Velano had been under surveillance for a long time.

Velano was detained at  the Police Station 5 lockup facility and facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (With Ian Paul Cordero/PN)
