BACOLOD City – Police seized P1.2 million worth of suspected marijuana in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Igmaya-an, Don Salvador Benedicto, Negros Occidental.
The suspect was identified as 50-year-old resident Jonas Alvios, police said.
Alvios was caught after he sold a sachet of dried marijuana leaves to an undercover officer for P500 on Sunday.

Muya said the entrapment operation led to the confiscation of three sacks
containing dried marijuana leaves weighing about eight kilos valued at around
P960,000.
Police also uprooted 120 suspected marijuana plants worth P158,400 owned by
Alvios.
Alvios was detained in the lockup cell of the Don Salvador Benedicto municipal
police station.
Charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed against him./PN
