AUTHORITIES seized over P1.38 million worth of smuggled cigarettes in Gingoog City, Misamis Oriental, the Police Regional Office 10 said Thursday, April 24.
The cigarettes were confiscated during a checkpoint operation in Purok 3, Barangay Binakalan around 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 23.
Authorities flagged down a white van truck with a 53-year-old driver and a 19-year-old passenger.
A total of 1,731 reams of cigarettes were seized from the vehicle.
All confiscated items, including the vehicle, were turned over to the Bureau of Customs in Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental. (GMA Integrated News)
