P14.3M ‘shabu’ seized in Bacolod

BACOLOD City – Over two kilograms of suspected shabu worth P14,382,000 were seized in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Vista Alegre here around 6:49 a.m. yesterday.

A suspect was also arrested – 45-year-old Michael “Tata/Toto” Frias of Purok Pablo Torre, Barangay Vista Alegre.

He was a “high-value” target, according to the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) – City Drug Enforcement Unit and Police Station 7 that carried out the sting operation.

Frias was a suspected member of the Caunda drug group. He was detained at Police Station 7.

Charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, would be filed against Frias.

Last week, 1.3 kilograms of suspected shabu valued at P8.82 million were seized by the BCPO in Purok Kabulakan 1, Barangay Singcang Airport.

Suspect Gycelle Bonagua, 31, of Angeles City, Pampanga, and also an alleged Caunda drug group member, was detained at Police Station 8.

Also arrested in the same operation were Michael Ramos, 43, of Antipolo, Rizal, and Rizald Lapag, 33, of Purok Zaylan, Barangay 4, Bacolod City. (Watchmen Daily Journal)
