SAN JOSE, Antique – This year’s P1-million intelligence fund for police operations with the provincial government has not yet been spent.
Gov. Rhodora J. Cadiao said the Antique Police Provincial Office may discuss with her how to use it.
Senior Superintendent Leo Erwin Agpangan, provincial police director, could visit her office anytime to tackle their intelligence fund request, among other matters that need her attention, Cadiao told the press Wednesday.
Capitol consultant for peace and order Margie Gadian will accommodate concerns of the police, including requests for funding.
“The intelligence fund was abused by some politicians before,” said the governor. “That is why the COA (Commission on Audit) now has strict policies” with regard to its use.
In 2017 the provincial government allocated P2 million for Antique police intelligence fund, which was released to the Police Regional Office 6, said Cadiao.
The governor gave this assurance in light of a complaint from Agpangan that they have not received an intelligence fund last year.
Capitol noted without giving details that the Antique police have yet to liquidate several other funds released to them. (PNA)
