ILOILO – To enhance the operational capability and logistical readiness of the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) and the Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO), the provincial government of Iloilo has donated P20.3 million.
The fund, turned over through a memorandum of agreement signing and check presentation at Camp Martin Delgado in Iloilo City, covers P5 million for the rehabilitation of the PRO-6 water system and P15.3 million for the implementation of IPPO’s 4A’s Operation — a flagship initiative focused on improving police mobility, facility readiness, and community-based law enforcement.
Provincial Administrator Raul Banias, representing Gov. Arthur Defensor Jr., said the donation is a reaffirmation of the province’s support for law enforcement and peace-building efforts.
“Let me take a moment to commend the Police Regional Office 6. We thank you for your strong support to the Philippine Army and in the campaign against insurgency, which has resulted in the total dismantling of rebel fronts in the whole of Panay Island. This is a monumental achievement that has unlocked the province’s future,” said Banias.
He also lauded the PRO-6’s consistent success in anti-crime and anti-drug campaigns: “We commend our police in the sustained and continuous campaign against illegal drugs with almost daily buy-bust operations, likewise your sustained campaign against all forms of illegal activity continues to yield positive results, and we acknowledge your vigilance against external threats particularly in territorial defense.”
Banias said the Iloilo provincial government would remain steadfast in supporting the police organization.
“This is our pledge to you — we will provide the tools you need to secure our children’s future,” he affirmed.
Police Brigadier General Josefino Ligan, regional director of PRO-6, welcomed the provincial government’s financial assistance.
“We are deeply grateful for this generous support from Gov. Defensor and the Province of Iloilo. This partnership strengthens our mission and inspires every member of Team PRO6 to serve with even greater commitment, knowing that our local government and our people stand firmly behind us,” Ligan said.
