ILOILO City – Hector Palencia will have to shell out a couple hundred thousand pesos to be temporarily spared from detention.
Palencia, a resident of Barangay Taguhangin, Ajuy, Iloilo, was arrested in the village on Saturday.
He was charged with “sexual abuse in relation to RA (Republic Act) 7610,” or the Special Protection of Children against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act, a police report showed.
Officers served him a warrant of arrest at 5:30 a.m. and detained him in the custodial facility of the Ajuy police station.
The court set the bail bond for his temporary liberty at P200,000.
On the same day a suspected illegal numbers game collector was caught in Barangay Bato, Sara town.
The 28-year-old Rowe Judirico of Barangay Muyco, Sara was taken to the Sara police station at 11 a.m.
Officers caught him collecting bets for “bookies,” another police report showed.
They recovered from him “illegal gambling paraphernalia and bet money,” the report stated./PN
