CANCER patients in Western Visayas need not go to Manila or Cebu for treatment, according to Malacañang.
Presidential Spokesman Harry Roque announced on Thursday that the Development Bank of the Philippines has approved a P259-million term loan for Medicus Cancer Institute, Inc.
Roque called the health facility “the first cancer institute in the region.”
“With this loan support, Medicus Cancer Institute, Inc. will soon be able to deliver better treatment and support to cancer patients in the region,” Roque told a press briefing in Sara, Iloilo.
Roque was in Iloilo province with President Rodrigo Duterte to visit the wake of Joanna Daniela Demafelis, the overseas Filipino worker killed in Kuwait./PN
