
ILOILO — Police operatives arrested a high-value individual (HVI) and taken a 17-year-old boy into custody following a buy-bust operation in Barangay Jibolo, Janiuay, Iloilo on Tuesday, July 28.
The operation yielded approximately 55 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated standard drug price of P374,000.
Elements of the Janiuay Municipal Police Station (MPS), led by Police Captain Randy L. Lambungan, carried out the operation at around 5 a.m. in Delos Santos Subdivision.
Police identified the primary suspect as alias “France,” 20, listed as an HVI. Also apprehended was alias “Bebe,” 17, a newly identified drug personality, who was taken into protective custody pursuant to Republic Act No. 9344, or the Juvenile Justice and Welfare Act.
According to the Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO), the operation was the result of extensive intelligence monitoring and surveillance. Both individuals were brought to the Janiuay MPS for proper legal disposition.
IPPO director Colonel Bayani M. Razalan commended the Janiuay police for the successful operation.
“This successful operation underscores the value of intelligence-driven policing,” Razalan said. “We remain steadfast in intensifying our anti-illegal drug operations and ensuring that those engaged in the illegal drug trade are brought before the law.”/PN
