ROXAS City – More than 200 farmers in five barangays of Dumalag, Capiz will benefit from the P4,258,500 farm machineries provided by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) under its Integrated Livelihood and Emergency Employment Program.
DOLE regional director Henry John Jalbuena and DOLE provincial director Melisa Navarra led the turnover of check to Mayor Amado Castro that will be used in buying rice transplanters and harvesters.
The village chiefs of the recipient barangays were present at the turnover.
“The program is DOLE’s contribution to the government agenda of inclusive growth through massive job generation and poverty reduction,” Public Information Officer William P. Dungog of DOLE-Capiz said.
DOLE also provided six rice reapers to farmers of Barangay Bago Grande, Panay town.
Aside from farm machineries, DOLE also provides Kabuhayan Starter kits, meat processing equipment, feeds retailing store, and restoration assistance to damaged livelihoods. (PIA)
