BACOLOD City – Two illegal drug buy-bust operations led to the recovery of P407,000 worth of suspected shabu in this capital city.
The substance was confiscated from three people. Two of them have been charged with violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, the Bacolod City Police Office reported.
One of the suspects was the 36-year-old Kristoffer “Krip” Zuñiga of Barangay Pahanocoy.
Zuñiga was caught around 5 p.m. Friday after he sold suspected shabu to an undercover officer from Police Station 8 for P500 at Villa Mercedes in Barangay Singcang-Airport.
Recovered from Zuñiga were 11 sachets of suspected shabu valued at around P167,000, police said.
Three hours later, elements of the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) arrested Khominee Dimasancai and Salvacion Simpao inside their house in Purok Chico, Barangay 28.
Dimasancai, who the police said was a “high-value” drug target, had been arrested before but was released from detention after posting bail.
Thirteen sachets of suspected shabu estimated to be worth P240,000 were recovered from him during Friday’s sting operation, police said.
The P1,000 marked money the officers used was also seized.
CDEU assistant team leader Senior Inspector Adrian James Albaytar said Dimasancai had been under surveillance after he got out of jail.
Selling and possession of illegal drugs charges were lodged against Zuñiga and Dimasancai.
Simpao, on the other hand, was still under investigation. (With a report from PNA/PN)
