ILOILO City – The Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) seized P6.3 million worth of shabu and arrested 20 drug personalities during a two-day antidrug operation across Western Visayas.
From Nov. 27 to No. 29, law enforcement units confiscated a total of 936 grams of shabu and apprehended individuals identified as drug pushers, according to PRO-6 records.
Of those arrested, five were classified as high-value individuals, while 15 were street-level pushers.
Here is the breakdown of arrests by police units:
* Aklan Police Provincial Office – one
* Iloilo Police Provincial Office – one
* Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office – four
* Bacolod City Police Office – two
* Iloilo City Police Office – 12
The Iloilo City Police Office accounted for the largest confiscation, seizing P5.4 million worth of shabu.
The Iloilo Police Provincial Office followed with a haul valued at P408,000.
Brigadier General Jack Wanky, PRO-6 director, commended the personnel and unit commanders involved in the operations. He also thanked the community and other law enforcement agencies for their support in the fight against illegal drugs.
“With the support extended by our partners, we were able to make these accomplishments. Thus, I urge everyone to remain vigilant. Those engaging in illegal activities can be reported to the police or to the Anti-Drug Abuse Councils at the barangay, municipal, or provincial level. With our collective efforts, I am optimistic that our communities will be spared from the menace of these dangerous substances,” said Wanky./PN
