P60T ‘shabu’ seized in San Carlos City

BACOLOD City – Fifteen sachets of suspected shabu were recovered from a “high-value” drug target in Barangay 5, San Carlos City, Negros Occidental.

The suspected illegal drugs weighing about 5 grams valued at around P60,000 were confiscated from the 27-year-old resident Rene Licaros, a police report showed.

Antidrug personnel from the San Carlos City police station staged the entrapment operation which led to Licaros’ arrest around 12:30 a.m. on Wednesday.

The sting operation was conducted in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency.

Licaros was nabbed after he sold a sachet of suspected shabu to a poseur-buyer for P1,000.

When frisked, 14 more sachets containing the same substance were recovered from him, police said.

Licaros was detained in the lockup cell of the San Carlos City police station. He was facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
