ROXAS City – A 31-year-old man classified as a high-value suspect with a previous criminal record was apprehended after yielding over P84,000 worth of suspected illegal drugs during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Dinginan here on Wednesday, Nov. 4.
Alias “Lander,” a native of Poblacion, Jamindan, Capiz but currently residing temporarily in Barangay Sibaguan, Roxas City, was caught at around 2:30 p.m. by operatives of the Capiz Police Provincial Office’s Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit.
The suspect, who had previously been jailed at the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology facility in Mambusao town for grave threats, fell into a trap after selling one sachet of suspected shabu to a police poseur buyer for P2,000.
Also recovered were three additional sachets containing suspected shabu, the marked buy-bust money, and drug paraphernalia.
Police said the total weight of the confiscated illegal drugs reached 12.4 grams, carrying a standard drug price of P84,320.
The suspect is currently detained at the Roxas City Police Station, facing charges for violating Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002)./PN
