ILOILO City – A 52-year-old man was arrested for shooting his son after a quarrel in Barangay Talisay, Barotac Nuevo, Iloilo.
Larry Belandres, a resident of the village, was taken to the municipal police station.
His 22-year-old son Jason only sustained a graze wound on his neck caused by his own father’s gun.
According to police investigation, Jason and Larry figured in a heated argument that ended up with the latter shooting his son using an improvised 12-gauge shotgun around 12:50 p.m. on Sunday.
Jason reportedly signed an affidavit that he won’t hold his father criminally liable for what happened.
Police officers however charged Larry with violating Republic Act 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act./PN
