ILOILO City – At the Paglaum: TMC Iloilo Media Excellence Awards for 2024, Panay News’ senior reporter Ime Sornito won the award for “Most Inspiring Health Care Story for Print”.
The awarding ceremony was held on Friday night, April 26, at the Courtyard by Marriott Iloilo hotel at the Iloilo Business Park in Mandurriao district.
Sornito’s compelling piece, “Underrecognized Benevolence: BHWs as Frontline Health Advocates in Communities”, shone the spotlight on the often-overlooked contributions of barangay health workers as unsung heroes in the battle for community well-being.
The Paglaum: TMC Iloilo Media Excellence Awards was in line with The Medical City Iloilo’s 14th anniversary celebration.
Sornito’s story’s resonance and its ability to convey a message of hope has not only earned her the well-deserved recognition but also brought pride to the entire Panay News family.
