ILOILO City – A Philippine Airlines aircraft en route from Dumaguete City to Manila was forced to make an unscheduled landing at Iloilo International Airport on Sunday afternoon after a reported problem with the cabin’s oxygen supply.
The flight, identified as PR 2544 (RP-C8619), was diverted at around 4:30 p.m. after the aircraft had already reached cruising altitude of about 32,000 feet, where the issue was detected, based on an advisory from airport authorities.
The plane was able to land without incident, but several passengers were attended to by medical personnel upon arrival due to the situation.
Airport officials have not yet disclosed further details on what caused the oxygen concern or the condition of those who received medical assistance.
