Palace appoints Aklanon lawyer as DTI asec

KALIBO, Aklan – President Rodrigo Duterte has appointed Atty. Allan Battara Gepty as assistant secretary of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).

Gepty from Banga, Aklan is a Commission Member III of the Philippine Tariff Commission.

Before his appointment to the DTI, the 46-year old Gepty held the position of deputy director general of the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPPO).

Gepty is an alumnus of Aklan State College of Agriculture in Banga, Aklan – now Aklan State University – and the University of Santo Tomas. He is also a faculty member of Graduate School of Law of San Sebastian College Recoletos.

Duterte also appointed Waldo Carpio as undersecretary of the Department of Agriculture, Roy Villa as the new member of Philippine National Railway (PNR) board of directors, Corinna France Cabanilla as Commission on Higher Education director, Ma. Teresita Daza as Philippine Ambassador to Chile, and Aileen Lizada as commissioner of the Civil Service Commission.

Other appointments were Carim Panumpang as Interior and Local Government undersecretary, Alexander Bangsoy as a member of the board of directors of the Intercontinental Broadcasting Corporation, or IBC-13 and Reynaldo Ola-a as director at the National Security Council.

Ruth Marie Isip Equipaje and Cesar De Guzman Aljama were also appointed as board members of the Nayong Pilipino Foundation. (Aklan Forum Journal/PN)
