ILOILO – The No. 5 most wanted person in Roxas town, Palawan was arrested in Barangay Bancal, Carles, Iloilo over the weekend.
Alias “Lorenzo”, 38, laborer, and a resident of Carles, was apprehended around 4:12 p.m. on Saturday, September 12, by the Tracker Team of the Carles Municipal Police Station (MPS).
He has a pending arrest warrant for rape issued on December 23, 2023 by the Regional Trial Court, Fourth Judicial Region (Branch 164) in Roxas, Palawan.
The suspect was detained at the Carles MPS pending turnover to the court concerned.
No bail bond was recommended for the case.
Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) director Brigadier General Josefino D. Ligan lauded the collaboration between PRO-6 and PRO-4B units, stressing the importance of inter-regional coordination in law enforcement.
“The arrest of alias ‘Lorenzo’ shows that criminals cannot escape justice, no matter where they try to hide. Our police units will continue to strengthen cooperation across regions to ensure wanted persons face the consequences of their crimes,” Ligan added./PN
