
PANDAN, Antique – This municipality recorded 12 new cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) and two more deaths from this viral illness.
“We are greatly saddened,” said Mayor Plaridel Sanchez VI on July 3.
The two deaths were a 54-year-old male resident of Barangay Nauring and a 64-year-old female resident of Barangay Mag-aba.
The Nauring casualty manifested COVID-19 symptoms and was undergoing dialysis at the Culasi District Hospital. He passed away on June 26 at the Angel Salazar Memorial General Hospital (ASMGH).
The Mag-aba casualty died on June 28 also at ASMGH.
Meanwhile, the 12 new COVID-19 cases were the following:
* 67-year-old male from Barangay Patria – symptomatic; hospitalized
* 26-year-old male from Barangay Patria – symptomatic; isolated at a treatment and monitoring facility (TTMF) in Kalibo, Aklan.
* male, 68, from Barangay San Andres – symptomatic; hospitalized
* female, 71, from Barangay Centro Norte – symptomatic; hospitalized
* male, 55, from Barangay Fragante – symptomatic; on home quarantine; a medical frontliner
* female, 48, from Barangay Duyong – symptomatic; hospitalized
* male, 71, Barangay Duyong – symptomatic; hospitalized
* male, 48, from Barangay Sto. Rosario – symptomatic; on home quarantine; medical frontliner
* female, 28, from Barangay San Andres – symptomatic; on home quarantine; medical frontliner
* female, 58, from Barangay Idiacacan – symptomatic; on home quarantine; medical frontliner
* male, 90, from Barangay Carmen – symptomatic; hospitalized
* female, 59, from Barangay Carmen – asymptomatic
“These patients underwent reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction test between June 26 and July 1,” said Sanchez.
Sanchez urged his constituents to observe the health protocols.
“Avoid unnecessary gatherings. Continue to follow our public health and safety protocols,” he said./PN
