Panitan man, 38, shot dead at waiting shed

ROXAS City – A man was shot dead at a waiting shed in Barangay Lanot on Friday night, a police report showed.

The 38-year-old Jurvlyn Clavaton of Panitan, Capiz sustained a gunshot wound on the arm.

He was pronounced dead a few hours after he was brought to the Capiz Doctor’s Hospital for treatment.

Clavaton and wife Erna just got off from a Ceres bus from Iloilo City when the shooting happened around 7 p.m.. They were waiting for a passenger vehicle to bring them home.

The police said the lone gunman was on board a motorcycle and used a shotgun in killing Clavaton.

“We are still conducting investigation to establish the identity of the suspect and the motive of the killing,” Roxas City police head Superintendent Dante Tayco told Panay News.

According to a witness who spoke on the condition of anonymity, Clavaton was able to buy balut from her a few moments before he was shot.

The witness also said the gunman fled to Barangay Loctugan after the shooting.

Police were still locating the suspect./PN
