MANILA – Bobby Ray Parks Jr. got one over collegiate rival Kiefer Ravena as Nagoya Diamond Dolphins defeated Shiga Lakes, 85-62, in the 2022-2023 Japan B.League Division 1 action on Wednesday night at the Dolphins Arena.
Parks tallied nine points, nine rebounds, four assists and two steals as the Diamond Dolphins returned to their winning ways for a 20-8 win-loss slate before the league heads to an All-Star Weekend break.
Ravena, on the other hand, was held scoreless. He muffed all of his nine field goal attempts and only contributed two assists and two steals as the Lakes slumped to 4-24 record.
Coty Clark led the way for the Diamond Dolphins with double-double 21 points and 12 rebounds, to go with three assists and two steals while Morris N’Dour and Scott Estherton added 13 markers apiece.
For the Lakes, David Doblas tallied 16 points, 10 rebounds, three assists and two steals, while former NBA forward Jordan Hamilton chipped 12 markers and six rebounds.
Matthew Aquino, on the other hand, had another scoreless game but it hardly mattered as the Shinshu Brave Warriors cruised to a 67-53 victory over the Seahorse Mikawa at the Wing Arena Kariya.
The former National University Bulldogs center missed his lone field goal attempt from the three-point area and only had one assist in nearly five minutes of court action for the Brave Warriors.
Yuta Okada top-scored with 21 points to go with nine assists and four rebounds, while William Mosley and Wataru Kumagai had 12 and 11 markers, respectively, as the Brave Warriors improved to 14-14 slate.
Davante Garner, meanwhile, had double-double 18 points and 12 rebounds as he only served as the lone bright spot for the Mikawa squad, which dropped to 10-18 win-loss record.
Meanwhile, Carl Tamayo’s future team Ryukyu Golden Kings suffered a close Shimane Susanoo Magic, 81-80, at the Okinawa Arena to drop to 21-7 record. The Magic improved to 22-6./ PN
