PATRICK Garcia and Nikka Martinez’s daughter, Michelle, is honing her singing and dancing skills through a K-pop training program.

On Instagram, SM Universe Singapore, the first K-pop training academy in Southeast Asia, shared a video of Michelle as one of its students in the K-pop Professional Training Programme under SM Entertainment.

In the video, the 13-year-old said she has to fly from the Philippines to Singapore every Friday for training.

“I think it’s pretty worth it to join this program because you learn a lot,” she said.

“You meet new people, you meet new coaches, and that teaches you a lot, especially coaches from Korea [who] help you learn their techniques,” she added.

According to SM Universe Singapore’s official website, the K-pop Professional Training Programme is an invite-only program, with interested participants going through a screening and evaluation process.

After a series of training sessions in Singapore, the program will culminate in a one-week immersive training program at SM Universe Seoul for selected students.

In June 2024, Michelle was included as one of IU’s backup dancers during the K-pop star’s “Holssi” stage at her “H.E.R.E.H,” concert at the Philippine Arena in Bulacan.

Michelle is Patrick’s eldest daughter with his wife Nikka whom he married in 2015. They also have two more daughters and a son. (GMA News)
