ILOILO — Officers of the Pavia Municipal Police Station’s (MPS) Drug Enforcement Team arrested four suspects during a drug buy-bust operation in Barangay Tigum, Pavia town over the weekend.
The operation carried out at around 6:45 p.m. on November 15 also yielded approximately 60 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated value of P408,000.
Police Captain Ritz Field S. Presquito, officer-in-charge of the Pavia MPS, said the target of the buy-bust was the alleged notable drug dealer known by the alias “Taboy.” This 30-year-old resident of the said barangay was classified as a high-value suspect.
Also apprehended were Taboy’s three accomplices identified as aliases “John”, 31; “Kerr”, 36; and “Kenn”, 21, all tagged as street-level individuals and residents of Barangay Tigum.
Pavia police confirmed that the group was involved in the distribution of illegal drugs within Pavia, and reportedly sourced their supply from Iloilo City.
The suspects were detained at the Pavia MPS, facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Iloilo Province’s top cop, Colonel Bayani M. Razalan, lauded the efforts of the Pavia MPS, highlighting the crucial role of community cooperation in combatting drug-related crime.
