MANILA – Eight returning and four newcomer imports are set to suit up in the 2019 PBA Governors’ Cup, which opens this afternoon at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.

Romeo Travis leads the casts of returning imports. He aims to lead Magnolia Hotshots in its title retention bid.

Justin Brownlee is also coming back as Barangay Ginebra San Miguel Kings eyes to reclaim its lost throne in the season-ending conference.

Meralco Bolts will pin their hopes again on Allen Durham.

NLEX Road Warriors has brought back Oluseyi Ashaolu while Eugene Phelps will also be coming back for Phoenix Fuel Masters.

NorthPort Batang Pier taps the services of Mychal Ammons while Rain or Shine Elasto Painters signed up Joel Wright.

Blackwater Elite also has returning import in either Aaron Fuller or Marcus Blakely.

Dez Wells, meanwhile, will try to help the San Miguel Beermen complete its Grand Slam bid in the Governors’ Cup while last year’s runner-up Alaska Aces will bring in new face in Justin Watts.

TNT KaTropa, for the second straight conference, has brought in an import with NBA experience in former Houston Rockets guard K. J. McDaniels while Columbian Dyip signed up Khapri Alston.

Facing in the curtain raiser at 4:30 p.m. are the Aces and the Dyip, while the Painters will test the mettle of the Batang Pier in the main game at 7 p.m./PN
