MANILA – Talk N’ Text (TNT) KaTropa boosted its roster ahead of the 2020 Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) Philippine Cup with the acquisition of John Paul Erram and the renewal of Bobby Ray Parks Jr.’s contract.

TNT formalized the acquisition of Erram from its sister team NLEX Road Warriors last night via a complicated three-team trade with Blackwater Elite serving as the conduit.

In the deal that is up for the PBA Commissioner’s Office approval, TNT traded Marion Magat and a future first round draft pick to Blackwater in  exchange of a first round pick.

Blackwater then traded injured forward Anthony Semerad and two future draft picks, including the first round it got from TNT to the Road Warriors for Erram.

TNT then formalized its acquisition of Erram from Blackwater by sending guard Eduardo Daquioag and a future draft pick to Blackwater.

KaTropa’s Erram trade was made just a few days after the former Ateneo de Manila University Blue Eagles was rumored to the team that drafted him in the 2013 PBA Rookie Draft.

Aside from completing the acquisition of the six-foot-seven Erram, it also boosted its contender status for the upcoming 2020 PBA Philippine Cup by renewing the contract of Parks.

KaTropa team manager Gabby Cui confirmed last night that the former National University Bulldogs star has agreed to a one-year contract extension with them./PN
