MANILA — President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. posted a notable rebound in both trust and performance ratings in early 2026, while Vice President Sara Duterte-Carpio’s numbers remained statistically unchanged despite slight shifts, according to the latest OCTA Research survey.
Results of the Tugon ng Masa poll conducted from March 19 to 25 among 1,200 respondents showed that 54 percent of Filipinos expressed trust in Marcos, while 30 percent said they distrust him.
The President’s performance rating also climbed to 55 percent, marking a recovery from the previous quarter, when his trust and performance scores stood at 48 percent and 51 percent, respectively.
Regionally, Marcos recorded his highest trust rating in Balance Luzon at 59 percent and his lowest in Mindanao at 45 percent. His performance ratings were majority-positive across all areas, peaking in Balance Luzon and the Visayas.
Meanwhile, Vice President Sara Duterte-Carpio registered a 55 percent trust rating, slightly higher than her previous 53 percent.
However, OCTA explained that the increase was considered statistically unchanged given the survey’s margin of error. Around 28 percent of respondents said they distrust her.
Her performance rating, however, declined to 50 percent from 54 percent in the last quarter.
Duterte-Carpio continued to draw strong support in Mindanao, where she posted a 90 percent trust rating and an 83 percent performance rating.
The Vice President’s lowest scores were recorded in the National Capital Region and Balance Luzon.
