PDEA abducts Pototan man?

POTOTAN, Iloilo — A laborer from this town is worried and puzzled over who abducted his 25-year-old son.

Florente Palomar yesterday reported to the Pototan police station that his son, Don, was forcibly taken by three armed men and a woman in a white Toyota Innova in Brgy. Malusgod at about 3 p.m. on Thursday.

Don was reportedly riding on his motorcycle when he was flagged down by the armed men.

The elder Palomar said that, since then, his son had failed to come home.

Residents in the said barangay claimed that before Palomar was taken away, they had heard gunfire. Then they saw Palomar on board a white Innova.

The vehicle later sped away toward Iloilo City.

Witnesses later claimed that the people who grabbed the younger Palomar were members of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Region 6.

Reportedly, Palomar was a subject of a PDEA drug buy-bust operation and is now in the custody of PDEA.

PDEA regional director Paul Ledesma could not be reached for confirmation if they had indeed spirited Don Palomar away.

Panay News called Ledesma several times through his mobile phone, but he never answered./PN
