ROXAS City – The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) – Capiz conducted an unannounced greyhound operation (“Oplan-Galugad”) and surprise drug testing among persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) at the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) Roxas City Jail – Male Dormitory in Barangay San Jose here.

Using a dog trained to detect contrabands such as illegal drugs and explosives, PDEA and BJMP personnel checked the cells of the PDLs.

According to PDEA-Capiz assistant provincial officer Alvin Clemente, the “surprise inspection” aimed to make sure no contrabands or illegal activities were being conducted or harbored at the Roxas City Jail.

No contrabands were found.

Also, all the 28 personnel of the jail and 60 PDLs who were subjected to drug tests all turned negative for illegal drug use./PN
