CAPIZ – A person deprived of liberty (PDL) was found dead inside the quarantine facility of the Mambusao District Jail in Barangay Bula.
The 56-year-old PDL was a resident of Barangay Santo Niño, Dumalag, Capiz.
A roving jail officer found the victim hanging using a bed sheet. He was declared dead upon arrival at the Mambusao District Hospital.
The victim was caught in a buy-bust operation on Feb. 27.
According to the victim’s child, their father may have been distraught after learning his family had been scammed. They earlier received a call from someone posing as personnel of the prosecutor’s office, saying her father could be imprisoned for 29 years and offered to help but for a fee.
The victim’s body was subjected to an autopsy to determine if there was foul play. (With reports from DYVR RMN ROXAS)/PN
