BACOLOD City – Partido Demokratikong Pilipino (PDP)-Laban Negros Occidental head Clint Aranas said he has no plans to run in the 2019 midterm elections.
Aranas maintains that he is “apolitical.” He added that he does not want to be accountable to anybody.
As the head of the PDP-Laban in the province, Aranas said he is hoping for “unified ticket” come 2019 polls, adding that it will be “good for everybody.”
“Why do we need different political colors? What do political parties do for Negros?” Aranas added.
He said he is hoping for other local political parties – Love Negros and United Negros Alliance –to unite.
“The people should decide for Negros and no individuals should decide for them. The people should choose,” said Aranas, adding that there must be no “king maker” in Negros Occidental./PN
