‘PH among countries high on work place gender equality’

MANILA – The Philippines is among the countries rated high when it comes to gender-equality in terms of public perception, a recent report by JobStreet covering countries in the region showed.

Data released by JobStreet noted that 37 percent of Philippine employees perceived their company as an equal opportunity firm when it comes to gender.

Thirty-eight percent noted their company as dominated by males and 25 percent said theirs is dominated by females.

“Philippines is one of the most balanced countries where you can see the male and female equality. We are one of the most balanced,” JobStreet Philippines country manager Philip Gioca said during a media roundtable.

The Philippine gender equality number is the highest among the six countries covered by the report, followed by Singapore at 32 percent.

Vietnam is at 29 percent, while Malaysia is 26 percent. Indonesia is 25 percent, with Thailand at 25 percent and Hong Kong at 24 percent. (GMA News)
