THE country’s hospitality industry’s largest sale on accommodations is set to open on September 1, the Hotel Sales and Marketing Association (HSMA) announced.
The HSMA said its annual September Online Sale (SOS) will offer as low as 75 percent discounts on hotel and resort stays, including dining packages, and experience.
This year, at least 85 hotels and resorts from across the country will participate in the month-long pandemic-born event.
“We aim to boost revenue for our member hotels, generating income and supporting their comeback. Finally, we want the sale to be a catalyst for inspiring travel and exploration across the Philippines,” HSMA secretary and SOS project head Ma. Celeste Romualdo said.
The annual sale started in 2020 to help the hospitality sector, the hardest hit during the pandemic, stay afloat amid the devastating impact of the global health emergency.
The SOS has since generated P98.3 million in revenue after selling at least 16,436 from 2020 to 2023, with its highest sales recorded in 2022 at P35.6 million just as the easing of restrictions prompted revenge travel.
The HSMA said this year’s SOS would include packages for meetings, conferences, birthdays, weddings, and other special events.
The HSMA SOS website will open on September 1 at hsma.org.ph/sos, with the sale officially ending at midnight on September 30. (Philippine News Agency)
