BACOLOD City – This city is among the three additional testing venues for the first Philippine Law School Admission Test (PhilSAT) on April 16.
PhiLSAT is a mandatory admission test given by the Center for Educational Measurement (CEM) Inc. for all students planning to take up Law starting school year 2017-2018.
Here, the PhilSAT will be administered at the University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos (UNO-R), which will also conduct a review course on April 1 and 2 at the School of Law Moot Court.
Bacolod, Tacloban and Zamboanga were added to the initial testing sites that include Manila, Baguio, Legazpi, Cebu, Iloilo, Davao, and Cagayan de Oro.
Online registration is until April 3.
According to CEM, the conduct of PhiLSAT is mandated by the Legal Education Board (LEB) to prescribe the minimum standards for law admission under Section 7(e) of Republic Act 7662 (Legal Education Reform Act of 1993).
The LEB, under Memorandum Order No. 7 Series of 2016, required the PhiLSAT as a prerequisite for admission to the basic law courses leading to either a Bachelor of Laws or Juris Doctor degree beginning school year 2017-2018.
CEM has been accredited to manage the affairs and activities related to the operation of the PhiLSAT. (PNA)
