PhilHealth rolls out ‘YAKAP para sa Manggagawa’

THE PHILIPPINE Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) Regional Office 6 launched on May 1 “YAKAP para sa Manggagawa: Yakap sa Pamilyang Pilipino,” a service initiative designed to bring essential health insurance services and primary care benefits closer to Filipino workers and their families.

The activity aims to streamline and accelerate key frontline services, including PhilHealth membership validation and registration, eGovPH registration, and digital and assisted selection of YAKAP Clinics. This ensures that workers can readily access their primary care provider under the National Health Insurance Program.

Through PhilHealth YAKAP (Yaman ng Kalusugan Program), registered members and their qualified dependents may avail of free primary care consultations, preventive health services, selected laboratory tests, and essential medicines, as provided under the PhilHealth YAKAP benefit package. The program also facilitates timely referrals to higher-level care when medically necessary, strengthening the continuum of care for Filipino families.

The activity strengthens its commitment to Universal Health Care, ensuring that workers, especially those working from Monday to Saturday, have convenient access to membership services and benefits.

To maximize reach and accessibility, multiple service sites across Western Visayas have been designated. These include City Mall Kalibo in Aklan; Angel Salazar Memorial General Hospital in Buenavista, Antique; CityMall Arnaldo Boulevard in Roxas City, Capiz; Robinsons Jaro in Iloilo City; Botongon Covered Gym in Estancia, Iloilo; Ayala Malls Capitol Central in Bacolod City; CityMall Kabankalan; and the San Carlos City Auditorium in Negros Occidental.

During the YAKAP activities, PhilHealth personnel will provide on-site assistance to help members register or update their records, validate membership status, enroll dependents, and select or transfer to their preferred YAKAP provider, ensuring faster and more efficient access to benefits.

“This initiative embodies our commitment to bring government services closer to the people, especially our hardworking employees. Through YAKAP, we are empowering workers and their families on the importance of disease prevention and early detection and for them to fully enjoy the benefits of PhilHealth,” said Lazaro T. Tabsing, Regional Vice President of PhilHealth Regional Office 6.

PhilHealth encourages all workers including seasonal, contractual, to visit the nearest YAKAP site and take advantage of the services and benefits offered./PN
