
PHOENIX Suns got rid of center Jusuf Nurkic by sending him to the Charlotte Hornets at the close of the 2024-25 NBA Season trade deadline on Thursday (Friday in the Philippines).
The Suns agreed to send Nurkic and a future first round draft pick to the Hornets in exchange for Cody Martin, Vasilije Micic, and a future second-round draft pick.
The Tuzla, Bosnia and Herzegovina native big man has not played for the Suns since January 8 after being relegated to a bench role by head coach Mike Budenholzer.
The 30-year-old Nurkic is averaging 8.6 points, 9.2 rebounds, and 1.9 assists in 25 matches with the Suns this season.
Meanwhile, Los Angeles Clippers acquired three-point gunner Bogdan Bogdanovic and MarJon Beauchamp in separate deals with Atlanta Hawks and Milwaukee Bucks, respectively.
The Clippers got Bogdanovic and three second-round picks in exchange for Terance Mann and Bones Hyland, while they got Beauchamp from the Bucks for Kevin Porter Jr.
The Hawks also parted ways with De’Andre Hunter by sending him to Cleveland Cavaliers for Caris LeVert, Georges Niang, three second-round picks and two pick swaps. Atlanta also gave up center Cody Zeller to Houston Rockets for cash.
Washington Wizards, meanwhile, captured Marcus Smart, Colby Jones, Alex Len, and first-round pick in a three-team trade with Memphis Grizzlies and Sacramento Kings.
In exchange, the Kings received forward Jake LaRavia from the Grizzlies, which in turn got multiple second-round picks, Marvin Bagley and Johnny Davis from the Wizards.
Dennis Schrƶder, on the other hand, was traded anew after being shipped by Utah Jazz to Detroit Pistons in exchange for KJ Martin, Josh Richardson, and a second-round pick.
Toronto Raptors shipped Davion Mitchell to Miami Heat in exchange for PJ Tucker and a second-round pick, while the Raptors also received injured James Wiseman for Indiana Pacers for cash.
Philadelphia 76ers traded Reggie Jackson and a future first round pick to the Wizards for Jared Butler and four second-round picks, while Wizards gave up Patrick Baldwin Jr. to San Antonio Spurs for cash.
Meanwhile, several players were also waived and entered free agency namely Jackson, Richardson, Jaden Springer, Jalen Hood-Schifino, Daniel Theis, Sidy Cissoko, Wendell Moore, and Ben Simmons./PN
