ILOILO City — In a major breakthrough for law enforcement in Western Visayas, the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) has captured several of the region’s most wanted fugitives, including those ranked Nos. 1, 3, 4, 5, 7, and 10, following a weeklong intensified manhunt operation.
From October 6 to 12, PRO-6 carried out 23 operations across the region, leading to the arrest of 22 wanted individuals — 10 of whom were classified as “most wanted” and 12 facing lesser charges.
Brigadier General Josefino Ligan, PRO-6 director, lauded the coordinated effort of police units under city and provincial commands, assisted by the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 6 and other specialized teams.
“The consistent results of our operations show the relentless efforts of our personnel in maintaining peace and order. Every arrest contributes to a safer community for all residents of Western Visayas,” Ligan said.
Authorities said the successful operations underscore the regional police’s resolve to track down fugitives and dismantle criminal networks operating in the area.
Ligan also urged the public to remain vigilant and assist in ongoing efforts to capture law offenders.
“We continue to call on our communities to provide information that may lead to the arrest of wanted individuals and the prevention of crimes in their communities,” he added.
