Pototan’s most wanted man captured in Antique

ILOILO – Police apprehended Pototan town’s No. 1 most wanted person for murder in Barangay Masanag, Hamtic, Antique over the weekend.

The 25-year-old alias “John”, a resident of the town’s Barangay Cau-ayan, was caught around 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 24, by the Pototan Municipal Police Station (MPS) under the leadership of Police Captain Jersey A. Besas, following a warrant for murder issued by the Regional Trial Court in Dumangas, Iloilo.

The suspect was detained at the Pototan MPS. No bail bond was recommended for his temporary freedom.

Pototan police said the suspect was being linked to a stabbing incident in May 2024 that resulted in a fatality.

Police Colonel Roland V. Bulalacao, officer-in-charge of the Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO), praised the officers of the Pototan MPS for their dedication, adding that this achievement aligns with the efforts of the IPPO to capture fugitives and ensure that justice prevails.
