ILOILO City – A 19-year-old pregnant lass was arrested in an antidrug operation of the police in Barangay San Pedro, Molo district.
Jinky Sanchez of Victorias City, Negros Occidental was taken to the Molo police station. She faces a charge for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Around 12:30 a.m. on Dec. 24, an undercover police officer bought from the five-month pregnant Sanchez two sachets of shabu worth P5,000.
The police seized from her 45 more grams of shabu valued at P500,000.
The buy-bust was an operation of the Police Regional Office 6’s Regional Drug Enforcement Unit (RDEU).
“She is not an ordinary drug pusher. She is really a drug courier who delivers not less than one-fourth kilo,” said Senior Inspector Kennith Bermejo, RDEU chief.
Sanchez operated region-wide, he added.
“Her drop-off points are Kalibo (Aklan), Capiz and Negros Occidental,” said Bermejo.
During interrogation, according to Bermejo, Sanchez claimed delivering shabu to a drug pushing client in Negros Occidental and that she was paid P20,000 per delivery.
“We tailed her for three weeks prior to the buy-bust operation,” said Bermejo.
Police sources told Panay News Sanchez’s father was a murder convict now doing time at the New Bilibid Prison in Muntinlupa City./PN
