BACOLOD City – Negros Occidental’s Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson is urging local government units (LGUs) to brace for the second round of the “Bayanihan Bakunahan” or national vaccination days from Dec. 15 to Dec 17.
With 213,291 vaccinees, Negros Occidental topped the first round of the vaccination in Western Visayas, data from the Regional Vaccination Center of the Department of Health (DOH) in Western Visayas showed.
The province also exceeded its target of 150,000 for three-days or a daily target of 50,000.
On Nov. 29,
Negros Occidental vaccinated 68,911, Nov. 30 – 71,012 and on Dec. 1 – 73,368.
Lacson said the province made a good record during the first round hitting 142 percent of the target.
He cited particularly the good performance of the cities of Sagay, Cadiz, Bago, and Himamaylan.
However, Lacson encouraged the mayors to always remind their constituents not to be complacent despite the province’s being under Alert Level 2.
“Let us always remind our constituents to continue practicing the primary health protocols which is the wearing of facemask. [COVID-19] is still around so we [must] never let our guard down,” Lacson added./PN
