PRO-6 arrests 3 most wanted persons in Iloilo, Capiz, NegOr

ILOILO City – Three most wanted persons (MWPs) were arrested in separate manhunt operations in Iloilo, Capiz, and Negros Oriental on July 31 as the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) intensified its campaign against wanted persons.

In Leganes, Iloilo, operatives of the Leganes Municipal Police Station (MPS) arrested alias “Ray,” 31, the municipality’s fifth most wanted person, at about 1:20 p.m. in Barangay Poblacion.

The suspect was apprehended by virtue of a warrant of arrest issued by the Regional Trial Court Branch 28 in Iloilo City on July 30 for a charge of attempted murder. The court recommended a bail of P120,000.

Meanwhile, in President Roxas, Capiz, alias “Jun,” 41, the municipality’s top most wanted person, voluntarily surrendered to authorities at about 1:25 p.m.

Police served a warrant for the service of sentence against the suspect for violation of Section 5, Article II of Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Later that day, at about 6:31 p.m., operatives of the Jordan Municipal Police Station arrested alias “Toto,” 18, the top most wanted person of Jordan, Guimaras, in Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental.

The suspect was also served a warrant for the service of sentence for violation of Section 5, Article II, in relation to Section 26 of Republic Act No. 9165.

Acting PRO-6 Regional Director Brig. Gen. Randulf T. Tuaño commended the operating units for the successful apprehension of the three wanted persons.

“Every wanted person arrested is a result of the dedication of our police officers and the continued support of our communities. We encourage the public to continue cooperating by providing accurate and timely information to help expedite the arrest of other fugitives from justice,” Tuaño said.

The PRO-6 said it will continue to intensify its campaign against wanted persons as part of its commitment to maintaining peace and order across Western Visayas under the Philippine National Police’s “Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas” program./PN
