ILOILO City — In a strong show of law enforcement vigilance, the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO6) successfully apprehended two provincial most wanted persons in separate operations in Manila and Iloilo on Monday, October 27.
At around 4:55 p.m. in Barangay 216, Jose Abad Santos, Manila City, operatives from the Leganes Municipal Police Station (MPS) and the Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO), with support from local authorities, arrested alias “Jelo,” 44, married, and a construction worker for Kubo Company. A resident of Barangay Bahian, Tanjay City, Negros Oriental, Jelo is listed as the Top 1 Provincial Most Wanted Person.
He faces charges for rape by carnal knowledge and sexual abuse under Section 5 of Republic Act 7610 (Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation, and Discrimination Act), with no bail recommended. Jelo is now in the custody of Leganes MPS pending proper disposition.
Earlier that day, at around 10:44 a.m. in Barangay Cruz, Barotac Nuevo, Iloilo, police personnel of Barotac Nuevo MPS arrested alias “Bert,” 52, married, and a resident of Barangay Badiang, Anilao, Iloilo. Ranked as the Top 4 Provincial Most Wanted Person, Bert is wanted for violating Republic Act 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act), particularly Section 28 (b) in relation to Paragraphs (e)(i) and (g) of the Revised Penal Code, with no bail recommended. He remains under the custody of Barotac Nuevo MPS.
Brigadier General Josefino D. Ligan, director of PRO-6, commended the operating units for their dedication and vigilance.
“We continue to intensify our manhunt operations across the region to ensure that justice is served. This accomplishment reflects our collective effort to maintain peace, order, and public safety in Western Visayas,” he said.
