ILOILO City – Comprehensive security preparations, heightened police visibility and sustained intelligence monitoring kept Western Visayas peaceful and orderly during President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s fifth State of the Nation Address (SONA), according to the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6).
PRO-6 reported no major untoward incidents across the region, attributing the peaceful outcome to “comprehensive security preparations, heightened police visibility, sustained intelligence monitoring, and close coordination with partner agencies, local government units, force multipliers, and community stakeholders.”
The regional police office said peaceful assemblies held across Western Visayas on July 27 were “properly secured,” allowing participants to exercise their constitutional rights while authorities maintained public safety and ensured the uninterrupted flow of traffic and essential services.
PRO-6 also credited public cooperation for the orderly conduct of SONA-related activities, saying the discipline and vigilance of Western Visayans “contributed significantly to the peaceful and orderly conduct of SONA-related activities.”/PN
