ILOILO City – Nearly 2,000 police personnel and force multipliers will be deployed across Western Visayas as the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) rolls out a massive security operation to ensure the safe opening of classes on June 8, amid the expected surge of students, parents, vehicles, and public activity throughout the region.
Acting Regional Director Randulf Tuaño said PRO-6 is mobilizing a total of 1,911 personnel and force multipliers who will be stationed in schools, major roads, transport hubs, and other key areas to maintain peace and order and protect learners and school communities on the first day of classes.
“The 1,911 personnel consist of 994 police officers, 877 force multipliers and 40 from concerned agencies. PRO-6 believes that force multipliers will serve as valuable partners in maintaining peace and order, especially during the opening of classes,” Tuaño said,
The deployment covers police officers, barangay peacekeeping personnel, and other force multipliers tasked with assisting law enforcement authorities in ensuring the safety and security of students, teachers, parents, and school personnel throughout the region.
Tuaño assured the public that heightened police visibility will be sustained in and around schools beginning on the first day of classes and continuing throughout the academic year.
“Our deployment is already ready. During the opening of classes, you will see our police officers stationed in schools and visibly present in different areas. This will continue until the end of the school year,” he said.
The regional police chief added that regular patrol operations will complement the security deployment to ensure continuous public safety.
“Police visibility will remain through our regular patrol operations to ensure the safety and security of the public,” Tuaño said./PN
