ILOILO City — The Police Regional Office in Western Visayas (PRO-6) has a new regional director following a leadership reshuffle in the Philippine National Police (PNP).
Police Brigadier General Randulf Tuaño has been designated as the new PRO-6 director, replacing Brigadier General Josefino Ligan, who has been reassigned to the Directorate for Operations.
Based on Special Orders signed by Lieutenant General Neri Vincent Ignacio, Chief of the Directorial Staff, and certified by the Directorate for Personnel and Records Management, Ligan was officially relieved of his post and replaced by Tuaño effective yesterday.
Tuaño, a member of the Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA) Class of 1995, previously served as the PNP Chief Spokesperson and chief of the Public Information Office.
Ligan, who served PRO-6 for 11 months and two days, expressed gratitude to the officers, personnel, and stakeholders in Western Visayas for their support during his stint.
He is set to be reassigned to the PNP Directorate for Operations.
Officials said the leadership change is part of a broader PNP reshuffle aimed at strengthening command structure and operational efficiency across regional offices.
During his tenure, Ligan was credited for intensified anti-illegal drug operations and the maintenance of peace and order across Western Visayas.
